Warren Shapiro SC

Warren was called to the Bar in 2001, and took silk in 2021.  He completed articles and was admitted as an attorney before commencing his pupillage, having previously been a prosecutor in both the District and Regional Courts. 

Warren has a general litigation practice, focusing mainly on commercial law and employment law.  He deals with a fair amount of family law and local government matters as well and has developed a specialisation in community schemes law.

Warren has appeared in most of the divisions of the High Court and the Labour Court.  He has appeared in the Constitutional Court and in the Supreme Court of Appeal, both on his own and as a junior.  He also sits as an arbitrator in commercial and community schemes disputes.

From 2005 to 2010, Warren lectured Motion Court Practice to pupils and then transitioned to advocacy training, where he has been a trainer since 2010 and an advanced trainer since 2014. 

Warren has trained pupils and advocates around the country as well as internationally, and was appointed as the Convenor of Advocacy Training for the KZN Bar in 2017. In 2021, Warren was appointed as the Head of Education and Training, which encompasses both Pupillage and Advocacy Training.
